Safety is the product.
Two commute problems don't have a clean answer in Nairobi: strangers in a private car, and officers extorting drivers carrying people they can't account for. WorkRyde was designed around both.
Why closed groups matter.

No strangers requesting rides. Everyone in your group has a verified work email on file.

Two-way ratings
After every ride, both sides rate. Below 4.2 and we check in; persistent low ratings get suspended.
Verification
Two checks before any ride.
- · Work email verification. Public domains (gmail, yahoo, outlook) are rejected.
- · Drivers also submit a driving license. Admin approves each license before they can post.
Closed groups
The community stays the community.
- · Every group is locked to one employer domain.
- · Only group owners approve new members.
- · Direct invites work only for phones already verified at the same employer.
In-ride protection
When you're in the car.
- · Hold-to-trigger SOS shares live location with your saved contacts and our support line.
- · Chat messages are retained for 24 hours in case of a dispute.
- · Audio recording is opt-in per ride.
- · 1 to 5 rating after every ride. Low averages remove a user from the platform.
Admin verification queue
A real human reviews every driver.
- · Driving license matched against the verified name on file.
- · Vehicle photo and number plate captured at signup.
- · Work email re-verified on suspicious activity or low ratings.
Payments
No cash in cars. No surge.
- Drivers never handle cash. All money moves through the wallet.
- Fares are bounded server-side. Drivers cannot charge surge prices.
- Full refund if you cancel before the driver arrives. Partial after.
- Driver no-shows refund the full fare automatically.
