Book the stage, not a guess.
Every ride on WorkRyde lists the stages the driver passes through. You search by those stages, you board at one of them, and the map shows the route the driver committed to. Pay from your wallet, top up with M-Pesa.

Four steps from sign-up to seat belt.
Verify your work email
A code goes to your work address. Public and disposable domains are rejected, so everyone on a listing has an employer on file.
Find a ride on your route
Search by stage, office or employer, and filter by how far the nearest stage is from you. Rides are listed publicly to everyone who is verified.
Book a seat
The fare is fixed by the driver inside a server-enforced range before you ever see it, and it is held from your wallet on booking.
Board, ride, confirm
Pickup is confirmed by both sides, not just the driver's word. At the end you confirm your own stop, which is what releases the driver's earning.
Bounded fares. No surge.
The base rate is KES 40 per kilometre. The most a driver may charge is half the base rate times the distance. The least is 0.25 times the base rate times the distance. On top of that, no seat may ever cost less than KES 50 or more than KES 600. The driver keeps 80 percent of the fare.
Illustrative example, not a real listing
KES 90–180
The range a driver may pick from on a 9 km route, per seat. They set one price inside it, and you see that price before you book.
Built for the Nairobi commute.
A route you can hold them to
The driver picks their stages and those stages become the route. If the driver leaves it, you can report a diversion and the server checks their GPS track against the route they posted.
A pickup window with a countdown
When the driver reaches your stage a timer starts, currently 3 minutes and operator-configurable. If the driver leaves before it expires you get a full refund and the driver takes a strike.
SOS to your own contacts
Save emergency contacts and the SOS button texts all of them a Google Maps link to your location, and opens a case with our team.
A share link for someone at home
Send a link that shows your route, driver, car and plate. It expires on a timer you set, up to 12 hours, and you can revoke it early.
Refunds when the driver causes it
Full refund 3 hours out, half inside that up to 30 minutes before departure. If a driver declares a delay, you are refunded part of the fare automatically out of their earnings.
A wallet instead of cash
Fares are held on booking and released on completion. Drivers never handle cash, so there is nothing to argue about at the kerb.
